Reiki Masters Day: Connection

With Reiki Master/Teacher Fabrizio Romano

Connection

We are so pleased to bring you another unique full Reiki Masters Day which will enrich and enhance your Reiki knowledge and practice. The theme for the day is “Connection” and we will have a deeper insight into the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (HZN) symbol, its tradition, cultural background and practical exercises.

On some level, we know we are all connected. We can understand this rationally by means of simple examples, however, the best way is to experience it. To feel connected with your heart, and in your soul, even for a brief moment, is a precious thing.

Practicing Reiki can help us have the direct experience of being interconnected to all there is, so, therefore, Mikao Usui introduced the HZN symbol to help us.

In this very practical workshop, we will briefly touch upon the original meaning of the HZN symbol and, through the exercises and the meditations, we’ll hopefully be able to truly open our hearts to a deeper understanding of the meaning of connection.

What you need to know

Please make sure that you know the four symbols by heart (drawing, mantra and kotodama). Your mind cannot be in the right state for the exercises, if it is busy trying to remember how to draw a symbol.

If you struggle with drawing them, try to engage your muscle memory: print them, and follow along the guidelines of each symbol, 10 times a day. It takes two minutes, and after a few days, your body will have memorised them.

As we’re exercising the connection symbol, it would be great if you could arrange to send a few minutes of Reiki to someone you know, at some point during the workshop. If you have no-one to send Reiki to, don’t worry, we’ll do the exercise anyway.

What to bring

You are free to bring your own food, and there are places where to eat, if you prefer. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes, possibly layered, so you can regulate your body temperature easily. If you struggle sitting on a chair for the whole day, you’re more than welcome to bring along a yoga mat, a meditation pillow, or anything that will allow you to be comfortable. If you wish to take notes, please bring a pen and a notebook.

How to prepare for the day

If possible, meditate, ground and practice Reiki every day, take care of your diet, and try and reduce intake of alcohol, smoke, meat/dairy products, etc. Keep yourself well hydrated, and exercise a little.

The above are just common-sense suggestions, please feel free to decide what resonates with you and what doesn’t. And please, don’t do anything extreme.

I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
